#24726 IT Office
Our client is a worldwide leader in network engineering that revolutionized the way computer systems connect to each other. It was our job to create a fresh design that would honor the company’s principles as well as deliver in terms of aesthetic appeal and display core values. As a pioneer in the communications engineering space, our client knows the value of easy communication, which is why we dove deep into understanding the concept of communication. We tried to find opportunities to reformulate and express this concept through design and architecture.
Although the famous Steve Jobs said that you can only connect the dots looking back, we were forced to connect them looking forward. Every detail in the design was created by subconsciously connecting all the spaces to each other. This allowed for a seamless communication process between the spaces in terms of flow as well as between the users of the space.
The design for the office follows a double-wing layout, with two main sections on opposing sides and a middle section, which we like to call the “Street”. The street represents the historical communication of mankind featuring a different color and style compared to those of the two wings. We found inspiration from actual city streets to design the middle section and subsequently called it the street.
There are interesting design elements inspired by the outdoors, such as plants and street lighting. The street facilitates social communication much like the medieval towns of Italy that had a central avenue for pedestrians only. This would allow for people to walk back and forth to socialize with each other and we wanted to include this concept in our design. At the end of the street, there is a kitchen as well as conference and meeting rooms for relaxed conversations and more communication.
