Yerevan’s “TriFest” sports festival recently kicked off as part of the city’s “Erebuni-Yerevan 2806” anniversary celebrations. Held in Hrazdan Gorge, this festival offered residents and visitors an opportunity to engage in a range of athletic activities, including a children’s race, adult race, time trials, and a duathlon, fostering a spirit of active community involvement. Organized with the support of local groups, TriFest’s inclusive events catered to various skill levels, creating an exciting environment for participants of all ages.
The festival also presented the city with an innovative proposal for a new sports and recreation area within the gorge. Developed by Storaket Architectural Studio in collaboration with Triclub, this project aims to enrich Yerevan’s recreational landscape with dedicated sports facilities, enhancing the city’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and active lifestyle among residents.
This project proposal is the first step in transforming the Hrazdan Gorge into a vibrant public space accessible to all Yerevan citizens. The vision for the gorge spans the length of the riverbank, aiming to integrate cultural and sports zones that honor and preserve traditional elements while introducing modern recreational facilities.
